mHealth & Wearable sensing lab (CIS project)
July 2023 - July 2024Teaching Assistant & Research Assistant
Delivered 3 hours/week of remote TA instruction during the academic year and supported a two-week on-site summer lab as a research assistant, helping Prof. Nabil Alshurafa (Northwestern University) with course delivery and lab operations. Led review sessions on mHealth system design and common sensing modalities (ECG, PPG, IMU, proximity, ambient light), emphasizing sampling considerations, noise sources, and practical signal interpretation. Mentored students through end-to-end wearable experiments using the Seeed XIAO board and related sensors, including protocol design, data collection, and system validation, and provided hands-on guidance in rapid prototyping with Arduino (embedded data acquisition) and Python/TensorFlow (basic model development and evaluation).
Biomechanics analysis of movement
2025Course Assistant
Provided in-depth explanations of the biomechanics lab to students, focusing on introducing and demonstrating the APDM system (a wearable sensor system for analysing human dynamics) and the VICON motion capture system (a high-precision 3D motion capture system for accurate analysis of human movement). Additionally, integrated real-world applications into the lecture to help students better understand the practical usage and significance of these systems in motion analysis and biomechanics research.
Probability and statistical inference
2025Teaching Assistant
Addressed students’ questions from the classroom in a detailed and comprehensive manner to ensure a deeper understanding of the relevant statistical concepts. Regularly organized study groups to facilitate knowledge review and discussion, helping students reinforce key topics and improve their grasp of core concepts.
